Indo-Pak talks futile sans Kashmir issue: Mirwaiz Updated at: 1300 PST, Sunday, March 14, 2010
JEDDAH: The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Indo-Pak negotiations would be meaningless with the Kashmir issue not at table, Geo News reported Sunday.
In a special interview with Geo News here, he said over 9000 Kashmiris are missing for last 20 years, urging Human Rights, Asian Watch and world groups to pay attention to the issue.
If Saudi Arabia mediates for negotiations between Pakistan and India, then Hurriyet conference would welcome it, he stressed.
Mirwaiz said the KSA has been playing as an intermediary over issues including Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine; accordingly, it may stands as conciliator for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
