Sharifs threatened Hamesh over loan denial: PML-Q |
Updated at: 1753 PST, Sunday, May 16, 2010 LAHORE: Hamish Khan, the prime accused in Bank of Punjab fraud case, was warned of dire consequences after he refused to sanction loan to Sharif brothers, disclosed PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Kamil Ali Agha at a press conference Sunday. Agha said that Shahbaz Sharif had pressurized Hamesh either to become an approver against Pervaiz Elahi or face dire consequences. Khan’s statement has exposed the real faces, they said. To a question about the timing of this revelation, he said that it was done due to custody of Hamesh. “Sharif brothers are defaulters of banks. They exerted pressure on Hamesh to sanction loan and warned of dire consequences for turning down loan application.” Meanwhile, Shujaat quoted Hamesh’ saying that he had no connection with Pervaiz Elahi. |
