LAHORE: Test opener Imran Farhat, too, has handed a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the breakaway Indian Cricket League (ICL) to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), while declaring that he is no longer affiliated with the league and ready to join Pakistan cricket.

Imran met acting Chief Operating Officer Bari on Wednesday to handover the NOC to him.

‘Imran Farhat came to me to give ICL’s NOC and the PCB will adopt the same procedure, which has been applied in the case of the other ICL players,’ Bari said.

He said it was up to the local cricket board to deal with such cases.

Imran, a veteran of 27 Test matches, scoring 1,655 runs and 974 runs in 33 One-day Internationals along with various other Pakistani Test, international and local cricketers had joined the ICL in 2007, which the International Cricket Council (ICC) did not recognise, resulting in all the players facing a ban from the PCB while not being allowed to play cricket for and in Pakistan.

Imran Farhat and all-rounder Abdul Razzaq joined the ICL after not being selected by the then chief selector Salahuddin Ahmad.

Various other cricketers like Razzaq, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Imran Nazir and prolific batsman Mohammad Yousuf have already disassociated themselves from the ICL and have represented the country in international cricket. Link...
