Bulls push KSE-100 Index to 9438 points

Bulls push KSE-100 Index to 9438 points KARACHI: Hectic buying pushed up prices of leading scrips at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Friday as 100-Index surged by 213.43 points to close at 9438.82.

The turnover volume was high at 244.564 million shares on the weekend as prices of 254 scrips advanced and 87 sustained loss while24 remained unchanged.

The market capitalization was improved by Rs 45 billion to Rs2.727 trillion.

Shahid Jamil, a dealer at a leading brokerage house said that market was opened with a positive sentiment taking 100-Index above 9400 level on heavy buying. At this point of time, some profit taking trimmed values, but that too, for a while and market remained high on buying spree.

Jahangir Siddiqui Co was the volume leader with a turnover of 30.898 million shares followed by Arif Habib 13.006 million shares, PTCL 12.442 million shares, NBP 12.284 million shares and Pak PTA10.543 million shares.

NBP closed at 84.23, Engro Chemical 170.70, Bank Al-Falah 12.99,Pak PTA 5.38, Nishat Mills 70.10, Arif Habib Sec 40.42 and Jahangir Siddiqui 30.53.

Unilever Food recorded the highest increase of Rs 60 to 1400followed by Siemens Pak which moved up by 45 to 1190 while Pak Services dipped by 10.30 to 212 and Treet Corp went down by Rs 10 to 340.
