ISLAMABAD: Khalid Mirza, the chairman of Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), who took historical actions against monopolies in country, has been dismissed form his services while Javed Akhter has replaced him for the post, Geo news reported late on Saturday.
Khalid Mirza, the one who issued policy note on settling sugar prices with mutual consent between government and Sugar Mill Owners (SMOs), is no more on his job.
Also, he fined Rs6 billion on cement manufacturers owing to artificial inflation in cement prices. His services have been curtailed at the time when country is confronting sugar crisis. Link...
