Guatemala Considers Legalizing Community Radio
WASHINGTON, Aug 17 (OneWorld.net) - After a protracted pressure campaign led by some of the country's most marginalized groups, the Guatemalan legislature is considering a bill to protect community radio stations, which are often the only local-language source of information but have been raided and closed in regions where indigenous people are resisting infringements on their rights.
